Today we celebrate World Fairtrade Day, a day to acknowledge and recognize the decline in worker exploitation. A day also to recognize a range of environmental improvements achieved thanks to the work of Fairtrade projects. The Universal School Ghatkopar being a pilot school has achieved an award for being declared as a ‘Fair Active’ School. Recently our students also celebrated the Fashion Revolution week with zeal and enthusiasm. We are really proud of USG's commitment of students, teachers and parents to support India's farmers.
Happy World Fair-Trade Day!

Every year, Fairtrade India organizes a campaign during Fashion Revolution Week to support the global Fashion Revolution campaign with an aim to inspire fashion activism and make people more aware of the social and environmental cost of their fashion choices. We at The Universal School Ghatkopar, celebrated the Fashion Revolution Week from Monday 18 th to Sunday 24 th April, 2022, where we collectively reimagined a just and equitable fashion system for people and the planet.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students were engaged with a Fair Fashion Revolution BINGO as a classroom reflective activity. The students were made aware of the impact of their fashion choices and to make better choices to reduce their fashion footprint.
Our Grade 7 students designed a poster for the Fairtrade labelled fashion brands like Indian Terrain, No Nasties, Soul Space, Balenzia and many more. that are leading the fashion revolution. Thus, the students were made aware of their fashion alternatives, the sustainable choices and to learn how to become a Fashion Revolutionary.
Our Grade 8 students wrote letters to the CEO of Fairtrade Labelled Fashion Brand. The students were engaged in a dialogue with Fairtrade Certified brands in the country to commend them on their commitment to responsible fashion.
