International Collaborations

The Universal School, Ghatkopar in the process to engage in developing and articulating a new vision for knowledge provides opportunities for students to share ideas with various link schools across the globe. We do this by organizing projects, events, and competitions which help the learners to develop effective communication skills, examine different perspectives of the world and understand the global issues, thus preparing them to face the challenges of the 21st century with confidence and strength of character.

We are a Fair Trade Pilot School

Part of the first pilot project of Fair Trade India was to campaign for the cause of the farming crisis. We are happy to see sensitive messages worded by our students in solidarity with our farmers for India’s largest T-Shirt Project.

Tony Blair Face to Faith Foundation Gold Award

The Universal School has been declared the recipient of Gold Award by Tony Blair’s Face to Faith Foundation for the outstanding participation in community activities and sharing views on ‘freedom of religion, belief and a fair world for all’ through video conferencing with link schools across the globe.

Commonwealth Class Runner-up Award for The Universal School, Ghatkopar

The students of The Universal School, Ghatkopar were part of the Commonwealth class team comprising of ten schools across the world. Our work was judged on collaboration, innovation, impact, and quality at a global level. We are proud to have received the Runner-up Award and a hardback copy of “A River of Stories” by the Commonwealth Education Trust.

Eco School Project

We are an Eco-Friendly School, promoting and encouraging our students to manage waste and make optimum use of the material. In this wake, we have worked on Waste Management and have received the ‘Eco-Schools India Handprint Award 2015’.

Blogging competition Award

The blog created by students of The Universal School to share their experience of running their own business ‘Universal Handicrafts’ was very well received and was announced as the winner of the Blog Competition at the global level by the British Council School Enterprise Challenge Team.

Get Connected Competition Winner

We were declared the winner of ‘Get Connected’ competition organized to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week 2014.

Students of The Universal School participated in a video conference with Mayfield School, UK, discussing the rights of girls and women.

Students shared notes on opportunities and barriers that women and girls are subjected to in their home and professional spaces in India.  They discussed how women are expected to balance career and issues around equal pay. The British students spoke about educational opportunities, the gender pay gap and the role of women in political life.
